Auzhia make an underground classic by working long flowing melodies into simple and grittily distorted black metal. Drums lead songs by racing in a straight line and letting riffs unfold from a few simple variations to longer phrases connected in a widening cycle of approaching their origins. Slashed open vocal chords howl a wail of alarm while the chaos of songs move forward in simple but direct playing. Straightforward songwriting creates space in which the possibilities of this dark emptiness are explored through resonance. Although this band have not yet been charged with any crimes, this album remains an obscure black metal masterpiece
